I had a panic attack in Target the other day when I found myself deciding on a small tree. Did I want a brightly colored tinsel tree, or a a more realistic two footer? Charlie Brown style? (Yes)
What color of mini-tree skirt do I want? Does a tinsel tree really need a tree skirtandomgwhyamIthinkingaboutallofthisrightnow?!
Where was I? Oh, yeah - it's not totally the season but it kind of is because Target said so. Also! A Capital Collection! What is a Capital Collection? It's an AMAZING collection of holiday shops! Also, it's a fundraiser for the truly wonderful (and my home away from home) Junior League of Washington!
This is the 53rd year you guys! See below for what I copied and pasted from the website!
A Capital Collection of Holiday Shops is the largest and oldest fundraiser of the Junior League of Washington. The three-day shopping event hosts more than 60 merchants with unique and exciting wares and 5,000 shoppers over the course of the weekend. During this exceptional experience funds are raised through a commission of all merchant sales, corporate sponsorships, program advertisement sales, special events, admission fees, patron donations, and raffle ticket sales. Your participation enables us to support 25 partner organizations in the DC area through thousands of annual volunteer hours and over 1,000 donated books each year. To donate, click here. (Heather Note: Do it you guys!)
Throughout our 98 year history, the Junior League of Washington has provided millions of volunteer hours and given more than $5.2 million to the community. Our trained volunteers make a significant impact in the lives of individuals (Heather Note: Holla!) across the Washington, DC area and are committed to helping the community to thrive. The monies raised at A Capital Collection have a real and lasting impact on our community. We are proud to focus our financial and volunteer resources on the complex issues of literacy in the greater Washington metropolitan area and we ask for your support as we continue to generously give back!
